Campers will explore the myths and mysteries of ancient Egypt and discover the wonders of archaeology in this camp. From long-lost cities to secret tombs, temples, pharaohs, ancient artifacts, hidden treasures, scarabs, scorpions, mummies, and much more, this camp has all things Egypt to investigate. In this camp, campers will unearth the past and analyze hieroglyphics, build model pyramids, excavate to see what relics can be found and see how the Egyptians performed mummification as they mummify something of their own. They'll explore the Sahara desert and learn about erosion and weathering by creating sandstorms and quicksand pits that can destroy structures; they'll also investigate how some rocks can make light on impact, react to acids and even float on water.

Grysell Ramos
Grysell Ramos received her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from The University of Texas at El Paso. She has been a lecturer at UTEP, as well as a laboratory and research coordinator, and has taught organismal/human biology, and vertebrate physiology methods. She has developed courses for P3 that focus on active student learning using hands-on activities; her classes are interesting and understandable.
