This virtual course will guide students through the basics of genealogy and the initial development of a family tree. This course will also delve into a deeper exploration of ancestral lineage and ethnicity as these can be facilitated by DNA testing and membership to digital consumer genomics and genealogy services. Various basic digital and online resources will be explored, as well as genealogy resources in our El Paso community. Student participation is much encouraged.

Maria Perez
After 35+ years of involvement in pastoral ministry, social work, case management, advocacy, networking, and social work education, Maria Perez now dedicates her time to several projects stemming from her social work expertise, including social justice. She is part of a women writers group addressing immigration issues in various written forms. As a person with a disability since toddlerhood, Perez continues to be an advocate on disabilities rights and serves as consultant to nonprofits and for-profits that serve individuals with disabilities, the LBGT+ community, and other minority groups.| Date | Day | Time | Location |
