Description: Introductory to Basic Spanish class is the first half of a comprehensive introductory Spanish sequence, providing guidance and practice in reading, writing, listening to, and speaking Spanish.
This course provides the basic language functions with a communicative purpose in mind, guiding the learner towards proficiency in accomplishing specific daily tasks. This course offers learners the possibility to learn Spanish as a tool to receive and transmit information, emotions, experiences and opinions. The course will present clear, concise and well-organized grammar explanations with examples that reflect everyday usage, most often in the form of conversational exchanges. It will allow the instructor to lead the learner into basic, communicative grammar and vocabulary, as well as linguistic and cultural strategies to improve communication. The student will be able to develop basic communicative competence allowing them to interact in simple everyday life situations and express their interests and needs.
Required textbook or materials: Instructor will inform the students about the materials for the course the first day of class.
