“Breaking Through”
The MENTE Project
The MENTE Symposium is designed to engage students from migrant, agricultural/farmworker, and homeless backgrounds in an envisioning experience through personal and academic connections with informative presentations, dialogues, and university place excursions provided by educators, professionals, and advocates. Held annually, the symposium provides a public pedagogical space and platform to allow students to present their personal and educational lived experiences for reflective practice and the development and use of their unique cultural capital. MENTE creates a network of personal, academic, financial, and empowering support for students of migrant and agricultural/farmworker, and homeless backgrounds from community, parental, peer, business, and educational agencies and stakeholders.

- "Scholarships" for Writing Contest Winners
- Included with Registration: MENTE T-shirt; logo backpack with inspirational and educational resources and goodies; box lunch

Cancellation Terms
If you wish to cancel your registration to the symppsium, you must send your request to ppp@utep.edu for a partial refund. The cancellation fee is 15% of the cost paid.

Magoffin Auditorium
From Interstate 10 (East): Take the Schuster/Sun Bowl exit (18A) to Sun Bowl Drive. Turn left at the light (Schuster Avenue). At the next light (Sun Bowl Drive), take a left onto Sun Bowl Drive. Continue towards the roundabout and go straight. Parking is available at the Sun Bowl Parking Garage on the right. From Interstate 10 (West): Take the Schuster/Sun Bowl exit (18A) to Sun Bowl Drive. Proceed onto Sun Bowl Drive. Continue towards the roundabout and go straight. Parking is available at the Sun Bowl Parking Garage on the right.
