The camp will introduce the fundamentals of classical ballet training while focusing on proper body alignment, basic ballet technique, basic ballet terminology, and musicality. Children build body and spatial awareness thorough dance, creative movement, and choreography. Campers will be introduced to basic ballet positions (arms, hands, feet, and legs) and fundamental steps with a strong emphasis on moving to music. The main objective at this level is to keep students excited about the journey of dance without frustrating them with the strict physical and technical demands of ballet. The camp's objectives are to expose students to the basic ballet positions and steps, help them memorize choreography, and build their knowledge of basic ballet vocabulary.
