This intensive review course will help participants prepare for the content areas covered on the SHRM exam. Course content reflects the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge, but this course of study will in no way guarantee or assure success on the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam. Students will receive the most recent edition of the SHRM educational products as Textbooks are included.
Certificate of Completion: Students with questions regarding the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams, may visit www.shrm.org or call SHRM at 1-800-283-7476. UTEP Professional and Public Programs is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. This program is valid for 52 PDCs for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.

This course is being offered live on UTEP Campus. COVID19 precautions will be followed based upon university directives given closer to the start date of class. An email with course information will be sent to students approximately 1-3 days prior to the start date of class.

COURSE WITHDRAWAL: Refunds will be issued, minus a 15% cancellation fee per course, cost of materials, and/or lab fees, if a written request is faxed, emailed, or mailed and received three or more business days prior to the first day of a scheduled course. Refund requests must include your name, daytime telephone number, and the course number or name. This policy applies to all registrations, regardless of the payment method. Phone requests will not be accepted for a refund.
Exceptions for refunds: There are no refunds for online courses.
NOTE: Please allow 2 -3 weeks for processing of refunds. No refunds will be given on or after the first class meeting. Cancellations 1-3 days before first class meeting incur a 50% cancellation fee. David Alonzo
David Alonzo is a lifelong El Paso native and UTEP graduate. He has over 16 years of experience in the Human Resource field, serving in administrative roles in the small business environment, nonprofit organizations, immigration detention facility, and U.S.-based twin plan human resources area. He is a member of SHRM National and El Paso SHRM. He has taught SHRM certification courses at UTEP and for ADP employees for several years.

Linda Torres-Kleinhans is a graduate of El Paso High School and The University of Texas at Austin, where she received her B.S. in Secondary Education and her teaching certification. In 2002, she earned her M.A. in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix at Santa Teresa, and completed her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. She has 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors, specializing in operations and profit and loss management in both union and non-union environments. In the private sector, Kleinhans has worked for national organizations, including Beatrice Foods, Swift Independent Foods, ACME Boot (a division of Fruit of the Loom), International Multifoods, Greyhound Lines, Inc. and West Corporation. Her experience in the public sector includes teaching at Doña Ana Branch Community College, where she specializes in management and supervisory training. She is the onsite training specialist at Thomason Hospital and is a management and human resources instructor at the University of Phoenix. She has held various positions on the board of directors for the El Paso Society for Human Resource Management (EPSHRM), including its 2006 president. As the current certification director for EPSHRM, she serves as a liaison between the chapter and The University of Texas at El Paso.
