This course will help students discover the possibilities of basic drawing. They will focus on sketching, shading, cross hatching, contour and blind contour. The students will learn to use these different drawing techniques and methods to help guide them or improve on their drawing skills. It will also provide the basis for other activities such as painting, printmaking and other mixed media.
Notes:
Student must bring their own snacks and beverages.
If you have registered for a St. Patrick’s course and a UTEP course on the same week transportation is not provided between locations.

Bianca Bernal
Bianca Bernal is a seasoned early childhood educator with 18 years of experience. She began her career as a youth activity leader at the YWCA and subsequently spent over six years at KinderCare, engaging with two-year-olds, preschoolers, and children of all ages. She taught 3- to 5-year-olds at the Head Start program in Artesia for three years before returning to El Paso to work in the Special Education department at Parkland Pre-K as a paraprofessional. After three years, Bianca accepted a teaching position at Head Start, where she continued to enrich her teaching skills for another three years. She is currently in her second year at Most Holy Trinity Catholic School, teaching Pre-K 4 and assisting with junior varsity girls' basketball and coed volleyball coaching.Bianca cherishes the growth, training, and learning opportunities her various roles have provided, which have strengthened her abilities as a teacher. Outside the classroom, Bianca is a devoted mother to three beautiful daughters and is married to her high school sweetheart. Her active participation in sports, including basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, dance, and wrestling, complements her coaching roles in recreational little league sports such as soccer, baseball, and basketball. Bianca enjoys reading and dancing in her leisure time.
