This course introduces students ages 14–18 to the foundations of mental health and the role of self-care in emotional, cognitive, and behavioral well-being. Students will learn how mental health affects thoughts, emotions, relationships, academic performance, and overall quality of life. Using basic psychological concepts, the course explores stress, emotions,
coping skills, and self-regulation. Students will examine how the brain and nervous system respond to stress and how intentional self-care practices can improve mood, focus, resilience, and decision-making. By
the end of the course, students will have a clearer understanding of the importance of mental health, the psychology behind
self-care, and practical strategies they can apply in daily life to support emotional balance and personal growth
