Introduction to Guitar (Entering Grades 9-12)

Our beginner guitar camp is a fun and engaging introduction to playing the guitar—perfect for students with little to no prior experience. Campers will learn the basics of guitar in a supportive, low-pressure environment, including proper hand placement, simple chords, strumming patterns, and how to play easy songs.

Through group instruction, games, and hands-on practice, students will build confidence, develop rhythm, and explore their creativity while making music with others. No prior musical knowledge is required—just curiosity and a willingness to try! By the end of the camp, participants will have a solid foundation and the excitement to continue their musical journey.

Required materials: Acoustic guitar and guitar pick. Note that students should purchase guitars appropriate to their size. Make sure to ask the salesperson at the music store.
