Everything around us depends on chemical reactions and the superstars of chemistry- Atoms! This week we will really put our beakers and test tubes to use as we experiment with hands-on fizzy chemistry. What does a headache and aspirin have in common with a chemical reaction in trees? Explosive soda, polymer reactions, acid/base reactions and more will surprise us! Come conduct exciting chemistry experiments that apply to the real world.

Grysell Ramos
Grysell Ramos received her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from The University of Texas at El Paso. She has been a lecturer at UTEP, as well as a laboratory and research coordinator, and has taught organismal/human biology, and vertebrate physiology methods. She has developed courses for P3 that focus on active student learning using hands-on activities; her classes are interesting and understandable.
