Students will be the chemists in a weeklong camp full of fantastic experiments with elements that react with one another to fizz, sizzle, melt, change colors, turn into gases, and even burn with a spectacular color flame! They can create chemistry rockets, magnetic slime, and glowing crystal balls, test some polyurethane foam, play with disappearing dry ice bubbles and investigate their own unique reactions. This kid-safe introduction to chemistry will show students that when you explore the world of chemicals you discover the amazing building blocks of the world!

Grysell Ramos
Grysell Ramos received her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from The University of Texas at El Paso. She has been a lecturer at UTEP, as well as a laboratory and research coordinator, and has taught organismal/human biology, and vertebrate physiology methods. She has developed courses for P3 that focus on active student learning using hands-on activities; her classes are interesting and understandable.
