How does blubber keep animals like penguins, seals, whales and polar bears warm? Why does ice melt faster with salt? Campers will discover the fascinating adaptations of Arctic animals through cool hands-on science experiments. Our Jr Arctic investigators will design an insulating den, craft a camouflage scene, create their own snow, explore ice crystals, and learn about ice/sediment cores, glaciers, snow density, snowflake science plus more fantastic, frosty fun!

Student must bring their own snacks and beverages.

Grysell Ramos
Grysell Ramos received her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from The University of Texas at El Paso. She has been a lecturer at UTEP, as well as a laboratory and research coordinator, and has taught organismal/human biology, and vertebrate physiology methods. She has developed courses for P3 that focus on active student learning using hands-on activities; her classes are interesting and understandable.
