This introductory Chinese Mandarin course is designed for students who are excited to explore a new language and culture. Through songs, games, stories, and interactive activities, students will learn basic Chinese Mandarin vocabulary and simple phrases used in everyday life.
Students will practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a fun, supportive environment. They will learn how to greet others, introduce themselves, count, name colors, talk about family and pets, order food, and explore Chinese Mandarin-speaking cultures around the world.
No prior knowledge of Chinese Mandarin is required-just curiosity, energy, and a willingness to say "Nihao"!

El Paso Chinese School
El Paso's Ai-Hwa Chinese Language School has provided quality traditional Chinese education for several decades. The school operated as "El Paso Chinese Language School" from1990 to 1995 under the direction of Anne Liu. It has been operating under its current name since 1998 with Shinping "Champagne" Chyi as its leader. In May 2004, Ai-Hwa was incorporated as a nonprofit organization and now offers tax-deductible donations. The curriculum focuses on phonetics and traditional Chinese characters and provides weekly classes for small groups of students to listen, speak, read, and write in Chinese. Students can also participate in activities and extracurricular programs that expose them to Chinese culture.
